Sony 3d Glasses Review

I recently purchased the Sony 3D glasses to go along with my Sony 3D television. I was somewhat dubious. Ive never been able to experience 3D before primarily because, in the past, 3D vision has always hurt my eyes. I chalked it up to being a glasses wearer and decided that maybe I just had the wrong vision for it, but my friend assured me these would do the trick. And he was right!

No Funny Lines!

The thing that usually drives me away from 3D glasses has always been the white and grey lines that start appearing crazily around the room. Theyd make my eyes ache and theyd make me feel dizzy and sick. None of that seemed worth it to look at what was, for me, usually a very blurry image. I dont really know how Sony fixed the problem and I dont care. My living room looked normal and I didnt get sick, and the picture was crystal clear. I really felt like I could reach out and touch everything I was seeing, but I wasnt disoriented in the least and there was no pain.

Watch For Hours

I was still dubious. I figured Id get 20 minutes, tops. Instead I was able to watch 2 movies, though I did have to stop and recharge the glasses between movies. That was no big hardship: it took about three minutes to accomplish. I got up to get some popcorn made during that time and it was back to having a movie-theatre quality experience in my very own home. The glasses are lightweight and comfortable, too: I just forgot they were there. It helped that I could bend and mold them to fit my own face and it helped that they were big enough to accommodate my normal glasses, which have to stay on if I want to see a thing.

No Technical Requirements

I expected some sort of long set-up period to get these glasses to work since these are an actual technical product and not those cardboard red and blue things you used to get at the movie theatre. Instead they seemed to just automatically work with my television which made me very happy indeed. Theres nothing more frustrating than struggling with a bunch of technical requirements. I am glad, however, that I followed some advice I found online to choose the shortest possible HDMI cable, otherwise I might not have had as good of an experience right out of the box. It has something to do with the speed of the data, but Im not a technical person and couldnt tell you other than to note that it did work. When I got a good 3D Blu-Ray player I got even better results, though I went without one of those during my initial test runs of the Sony 3D glasses.

Would I Buy Them Again?

Id actually like to buy 2 or 3 more pairs just to have around the house so I can invite friends over for 3D viewing parties. You can get them for about $68 and I think thats a very reasonable price for all of this technological capability. In addition I would recommend it to any of my friends. Its a new level of viewing experience, one that heightens the fantasy of my entertainment and makes it very fun to enjoy.
